Project Quality Assurance Specialist and Auditor

Role Overview: We are looking for a Project Quality Assurance Specialist and Auditor to provide independent oversight and evaluation of project governance, processes, and deliverables. This professional will ensure projects meet organizational standards and align with strategic goals, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented expert with a strong foundation in project management methodologies, a sharp eye for compliance with quality standards, and the ability to conduct project audits confidently. Membership with or accreditation by recognized auditing bodies such as the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) or equivalent is highly desirable. Key Responsibilities:

• Quality Assurance Assessments:
• Conduct regular quality reviews of project deliverables, processes, and governance frameworks.
• Ensure adherence to best practices in both traditional (Waterfall)and Agile project management
• Verify that projects align with organizational objectives and quality standards.
• Project Audits:
• Perform independent project auditsto evaluate compliance with scope, timeline, budget, and quality expectations.
• Identify risks, issues, and gaps in project execution and governance.
• Provide actionable recommendations to improve project outcomes.
• Regulatory Compliance:
• Ensure projects meet regulatory standards in South Africa (POPIA, FICA) and Europe (GDPR, etc.).
• Conduct audits to assess regulatory alignment and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
• Stakeholder Engagement:
• Collaborate with project managers, PMO teams, and stakeholders to gather data and insights.
• Present audit findings and quality assurance reports to leadership teams with confidence.
• Process Improvement:
• Recommend enhancements to project governance structures and workflows.
• Create templates, guidelines, and tools to drive continuous quality improvement across projects.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Educational Background:
• Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
• Certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or equivalent through IIAor relevant professional bodies.
• A certification in Quality Management (e.g., ISO 9001:2015)is a strong plus.
• Project management certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certificationsare highly desirable.
• Experience:
• At least 5 years of experience in project quality assurance, auditing, or a related role.
• Proven track record of conducting project audits and driving quality improvements.
• Familiarity with regulated environments, including financial services, insurance, or technology.
• Skills:
• Project Governance Expertise:Deep knowledge of project governance, quality standards, and methodologies.
• Auditing Expertise:Strong proficiency in audit techniques and frameworks aligned with IIA
• Regulatory Knowledge:Strong understanding of local and international regulations such as POPIA, GDPR, and ISO standards.
• Analytical Thinking:Ability to analyze complex project data and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Communication Skills:Exceptional ability to produce clear, actionable audit and quality assurance reports.
• Problem-Solving:Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering practical solutions.

Professional Affiliations (Preferred):
